Pharmacy Technician Program Implementation

There are two (2) platforms users will access for the different technician programs.

TRC Platform:  Provides access to Pharmacy Technician and related Hospital Pharmacy Technician Letters. Technicians can access a full library of CE, Live CE, and related training courses.  Learning Management Portal (LMP) Administrators can assign additional programs as noted below in Assigning Programs to Users. 

PTU Platform:  Provides access to Pharmacy Technician’s University (PTU) and the PTU Elite Programs.  The PTU Elite Program assignments have been created but not yet assigned to users. Add users manually to this platform to provide access to the PTU Elite Programs.  

Assigning Programs to Users on the TRC Platform

Assignments for the programs below have been created but not yet assigned to users. To assign a program to users:

• Populate the custom field "Program" found on the user's profile with the Program Code associated with the Program Title shown below in the Learning Management Portal.
• User profiles may be updated in bulk or individually; however, the user profile must be updated with Program Code for the user to have access to the program.

To make a custom assignment of the programs below, please submit a ticket to Group Client Services. 

CSPT Prep Program (Technicians only): Training focused on essential sterile compounding knowledge standards, including live documentation of professional competency, resulting in an understanding of compounding processes, compliance and safety.  This program prepares users to take the Compounding Sterile Preparation Technician Exam to receive the associated certification. 

Technician Product Verification (TPV) Training (Technicians only): Training designed to prepare pharmacy technicians for expanded roles in product verification, covering final verification duties, accuracy checking, and the administrative skills required for greater pharmacy responsibilities.

Assigning PTU Elite Programs to Users on the PTU Platform

The PTU Elite series of programs will be automatically assigned once the user is created in the PTU Platform.  The PTU Administrator has access to create users.  The Program Administrator will provide the technician with a username and temporary password.  Learn how here.

PTU Administrators and technicians will have two (2) Accounts. 

• Access to all PTU Elite Programs listed below except the Immunization program.  The PTU Core program will also be accessed with this Account.
• Access to the Immunization program.  End users receive CE credit once the Immunization program is complete.

PTU Elite Immunization Program

Each certified pharmacist immunizing preceptor must be vetted by TRC prior to being enrolled as a preceptor in this program. Candidates should complete this form, including uploading the requested documentation.
